OpenEyes from Moorfields Eye Hospital and Misys Connect ™ Portal from MOSS have won the Smart Healthcare Live 2011 Open Source Awards of the year.
The Smart Healthcare Live Open Source Awards with an aim of recognising Open Source excellence in health and social care, supported by the IHE, iSOFT and the eHealthOpenSource.org community, has announced the winners today.
The Judging Panel consisted of open source practitioners, academics, software vendors and clinicians have recognised the OpenEyes from Moorfields Eye Hospital as the most compelling business case of open source solution and Misys Connect ™ Portal from Misys Open Source Solution as the best use of open source in health and social care.
OpenEyes is a collaborative, open source, project led by Moorfields Eye Hospital. The goal is to produce a framework which will allow the rapid, and continuous development of web-based electronic patient records (EPR), with contributions from Hospitals, Institutions, Academic departments, Companies, and Individuals.
The Misys Connect ™ Portal is a core element of a community solution that provides clinicians and other members of the care team with the right information at the right time by making patient information available across organizational boundaries and venues of care. It not only facilitates and streamlines the sharing of patient information throughout the healthcare delivery system but provides a single web destination where individual provider-facing web applications – such as ePrescribing, referral management, physician inbox with lab results – can be consolidated and accessed seamlessly by the clinician.
